First of all, let me Thank Stephanie for this beautiful blog makeover! She is absolutely wonderful and I cannot express how thankful I am that I have met someone as special as her on my Journey to Lauren.
Things are happening quicker than I can keep up with here. Monday we got the FedEx package, Dan and I excitedly ran to the couch and opened it,only to find most of the information was in Chinese! :) I could decifer from the lab results that she was doing great, however, she most likely had a cold at the time and she was a little anemic (which is very typical at her age). We were told we would need to wait approx. 2 weeks for the translation. However, Yesterday, I received the translated information via email!
Lauren is doing soo great! She is talkative, likes music and dancing, likes to play with toys and especially dolls. She was able to scribble, hold a lollipop in her hand, walk up and down stairs, and the list goes on! They really gave us a lot of information. I also found out that our referral pictures and wt/ht. information is from when she was 15 months old. So, she's probably grown some since. As a side note, after I read the details of who Lauren is and what she has been going through, I broke down and cried for the first time. I love her so much already.
I found an awesome site through Seventh Diamond called redthreadchina.com. I sent a care package to Lauren using this site. The pictures of the items I chose are pictured above. It includes, a disposable camera, candy for the nannies, a letter, a music bear, a photo album, and a pink and white blanket. Ann is the lady who runs this company and she is wonderful! I wrote a letter to Lauren's nannies which Ann will translate and deliver with my care package. I also sent her 6 photos that she will download and put into the photo album. How awesome,eh??
I just wanted to share also, the amazing peace I have felt since Friday. I always wondered how I would be able to stand the 6-8 weeks of waiting after seeing my sweet Lauren's face. However, I am so at peace that Lauren is happy and healthy. Don't get me wrong, I cannot wait to get my hands on her, but I just wanted to share how I was doing.

I'm happy for you guys that the translation came sooner than later. What a wonderful surprise! She sounds amazing!!
I remember seeing the redthreadchina site before, but forgot about it. That's a great idea. I love that you can send her pictures & a note. :)
I am so happy for you and the fact that you have found great peace during the last leg of this wait. You will have your arms around Lauren before you know it!!!
Mardi I am so glad you are feeling at peace, your faith will guide you through these last few weeks until you have Lauren in your arms.
Ann is great! I've seen several people use her services and we already have our eyes on which package we will send Jennifer when our time comes.
Many hugs mommy!
So precious! I will immediately begin praying for that perfect peace that only a perfect creator can offer to completely envelope you, Dan and Lauren until you are united!! Keep me posted!
Peace is good. I love reading about Lauren. It sounds like she is being taken such good care of...perhaps it's a blessing that she's in an orphanage we don't normally hear about. They just don't seem to be doing things as routinely or systematically as some of the other SWI's. It feels more personal and detailed for some reason. Not the same generic personality descriptions you sometimes read from other families.
She loves lollipops???!!! How cute is that?! Be sure to pack some!!! I LOVE IT!!
She dances and climbs stairs! I bet she keeps her caretakers busy. wooo whoo Do they make clamp-ons for ballet slippers?

Hey..don't know if you want to see someone in China right now doing the things you will do so soon, but if you think you can handle it then visit beckeringtribe.blogspot.com
I've been blogging with her since I very first started my blog almost three years ago. They went to pick up their second from China...a little boy with a heart condidtion and are in Beijing right now. Her pictures are beautiful and will inspire your time there. Just checking in on you and this AWESOME journey!!! You'll be traveling before you know it!!!!!!!!!! ; )
This is all so very exciting! This time really does go quickly. I was just preparing all the last minute travel stuff, having showers.... I love the care package idea. We never sent one, but we will the next time. I loved the info the orphanage sent us, and they were right on when describing S.G.'s personality. I'm just so excited for you guys and can't wait to follow each moment with ya!!
